Tips for Mom and Dad

Save Time!   Register online for your child’s group ski or snowboard lessons and rentals today.

Come in the day before-  To avoid long lines and confusion pick up tickets and rental equipment, and sign liability waivers the day before from 11:00am-12:00pm or 1:30pm – 2:30pm.

Arrive early- Plan to have your child/children to Ski School no later than 9:00am to insure a space.

Plan for lunch and/or snack breaks- For children 3-14 yrs. in full day programs, lunch is included. Teens (Ages 15+) will need to provide their individual lunch money ($15-20) - it is not included in the price. Parents may put a resort charge on their children's lift passes to cover unexpected expenses (snacks, hand warmers, etc.)

Be prepared for anything - Bring warm, waterproof gloves or mittens; goggles or sunglasses with UV protection; sunscreen, warm jacket; hat; snow pants; and a neck warmer (for colder days).  Please label all personal items.

Saying good-bye for the day- For young children 3-6 years of age we recommend that you say your good byes quickly at check-in and let the staff work their magic. Children tend to transition much faster once parents are out of sight, both in the center and on the hill.

Helmet Policy

Beaver Creek strongly recommends that children 14 years and younger wear a helmet.  Rental helmets are available at our children’s ski and snowboard school locations for your convenience, or can be purchased at many retail stores. Parents or guardians who opt out of the helmet recommendation, are required to decline helmet use in writing on the ski and snowboard school release agreement prior to their child’s participation.

Beaver Creek encourages our guests to educate themselves on the benefits and limitations of winter sports helmets. Regardless of whether or not you choose to wear a helmet, every winter sport participant shares responsibility for his or her safety and for that of others using the ski area facilities.
